Framed Quilled Mermaid

Although its exact origins are a mystery, the art of quilling is thought to have originated in Ancient Egypt by the nuns that lived there. More recently quilling has been practiced as an art form in Renaissance France/Italy as well as in 18th century England.This piece has been designed and crafted by hand by the owner of Jersey Salt. The art itself has been applied to heavy mat material. Each piece of paper has been placed, shaped or formed by hand.  The art comes framed in an 8x10 shadow box with white frame, the art work has been matted. This is a one-of-a kind piece and no two will ever be alike.
